I've used hybrid ropes doing rope access work for a few years now and was really excited to see that Edelrid had released a dynamic rope with a similar hybrid construction (nylon core with technora/polyester sheath). After using two of these for nine months now, I can say they perform flawlessly. They're a great size at 8.9mm. Nice and light, but not so skinny they won't still work with most modern belay devices. I just wish they offered a few more diameter options. They've held up to heavy use very well. I only can find one slightly fuzzy spot on one of them. This is after absolutely trashing a Petzl 9.5mm nylon rope in the same time frame (I am careful with my ropes, but I climb at crags with a lot of sharp rock). After having used the Swift Protect, I doubt I'll got back to a nylon sheath rope again.
